Showkayce is a small homebased Miniature American Shepherd breeding program that features a collection of owned, homebred Females who either live in my home, or happily live in a Guardian home. When it comes time for breeding selection, I search outside my Kennel for a dog that would be a perfect match without being limited to an in-house male. This tactic has helped me improve my dogs temperament, health & conformation generation after generation.

         All of my females are OFA Hip & Elbow tested. This requires radiographs to be taken of these important joints and sent to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals to be rated by a veterinarian. Each of my females completes a Full DNA Genetic Health Panel and Neuronal Axonal Dystrophy (NAD) DNA testing. When possible, I complete OFA CAER eye exams.

          Our Guardian Program: Only 4 dogs live with me in my home near Airdrie, Alberta (retiree's Robin & Sage, Fly and Glow). It is difficult to have a multi-generational breeding program run out of a home once you exceed a certain number of dogs underfoot!! Especially considering that I want my oldest girls to live out their retirement here. I am very glad and honoured that I have some of my top quality breeding dogs living in these special Guardian Homes. These homes provide a life with an abundance of individualized love & attention that can only come from being a cherished family pet.
