My fascination with the Miniature American Shepherd started in the early 2010s. I grew up with an Australian Shepherd, and Aussies were my favorite breed. When I was in college the "Miniature/Toy Australian Shepherd" started to take off in popularity and I would research breeders daily. There seemed to be a wide variety of type and style of these emerging dogs, and I knew if I were to own one, I would want one that resembled a true Australian Shepherd, with appropriate bone and substance in a smaller package. I bought my first Miniature American Shepherd "Robin" from Carla at Pinewood MAS in 2015, and was started on a path.  ​
